We recently received our latest breast screening feedback report. 75% of eligible patients attended for an appointment and malignancy was detected in 1.3% of this group. This proves how important breast screening is in identifying any abnormal findings.
Early detection means early treatment which is more likely to be successful and it is less likely you will need to have a breast removed (mastectomy).
Breast screening is available to patients aged 50-74 and if you were invited but missed or did not book an appointment, you can contact our local breast screening service on 01642 624261. You can still book even if you were invited weeks or months ago.
